Jersey RFC is thrilled to announce the club’s new lead sponsor for the next three seasons: CoinShares International Limited, the leading European investment company specialising in digital assets.
Stretching until July 2026, this exciting partnership will amplify CoinShares' presence through high-visibility initiatives, including renaming the JRFC stadium to CoinShares Park. The company's logo will feature prominently across the JRFC's facilities and branding elements, including the stadium car park, main pitch, roadside signage, scoreboard, pitch-side billboards, and team kit. CoinShares' logo will adorn the shorts of the Men’s team and the shirts of JRFC Women.
CoinShares is dedicated to fostering the growth of rugby in Jersey. A significant part of this commitment involves financing a Rugby Development Officer. This role will focus on promoting rugby in local primary and secondary schools and coordinating development and coaching within the JRFC's Mini and Junior sections, nurturing the next generation of rugby talent.
Jean-Marie Mognetti, CEO of CoinShares, shared his enthusiasm: “Today’s announcement marks a significant milestone for both CoinShares and Jersey RFC. Our sponsorship is driven by two key motivations.
“Firstly, CoinShares is a staunch advocate of the rugby ethos: solidarity, integrity, discipline, and respect. These values resonate deeply with our corporate culture and business practices. Secondly, as a proud Jersey-headquartered company, we are deeply invested in the preservation and promotion of local cultural pillars.
“Our commitment echoes our previous initiatives, such as sponsoring the Jersey Race Club. This partnership with JRFC is a continuation of our dedication to nurturing and celebrating Jersey's unique heritage and community values. Supporting JRFC goes beyond mere sponsorship; it's about enriching local talent, bolstering community bonds, and contributing to the Island's vibrant sports culture. We're excited to be part of the JRFC journey and eagerly anticipate the fruits of this collaborative effort.”
Jersey RFC Chairman Dan McAlister said “We’re delighted by this announcement and the support demonstrated by CoinShares to grassroots rugby. Jean-Marie, Benoît Pellevoizin [Head of Marketing and Communications] and the team at CoinShares extol and share the virtues that rugby instils and this mutual ground was obvious from the outset of our discussions.
“Their financial support at such an important time for local rugby must not be underestimated and all at the rugby club are very grateful.”
The new partnership was also welcomed by Deputy Lucy Stephenson, who represents the St Peter, St Ouen and St Mary electoral district in which CoinShares Park is situated. She commented: “I'm delighted for JRFC that they have been able to secure this new partnership deal, and grateful to CoinShares for their support.
“Sponsors are vital to our local sports clubs and associations, and this partnership is an encouraging boost after a difficult few months for Jersey rugby and at a time when the rising cost-of-living continues to be felt by so many.
“JRFC is at the heart of our community and provides opportunities for Islanders on and off the field, and I am particularly excited that CoinShares will be contributing towards a new rugby development post to ensure that continues long into the future. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate the JRFC committee for all their hard work in getting to this point.”
